We all know that Disney Orlando do not have style parks in Africa. Well, at least not yet. Then why is it that people are discussing taking a vacation in Disney Orlando’s African theme park lodge?
They are actually talking about The Animal Kingdom Vacation Lodge which is in the southwest corner of Disney Orlando located near to the Animal Kingdom amusement park. This excitingly themed and interesting lodge was formally declared opened in 2001. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a fusion of African tribal native architecture with the unique rugged design of East African National Park lodges. The Animal Kingdom Vacation Lodge was created by Peter Dominick of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge popularity.
Strikingly impressive view of the 33 acre terrain architecture with flowing streams and raised rock protrusions can be viewed from half of the rooms at the lodge. Hundreds of friendly animals and birds of mainly African beginning roam freely at the location. Many of the practically 1,300 rooms are about 340 square feet huge and embellished with hand-crafted African furniture and furnishings. Nearly all spaces have a balcony to view the remarkable surrounding.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge likewise offer fine dining in a laid-back setting at the Jiko dining establishment. Jiko serves light, fast and easy dishes. Another restaurant, the Boma is a family dining establishment. This dining establishment is the African version of the Whispering Canyon dining establishment located at the Fort Wilderness Lodge and Villas. Boma serves buffet food in African thatched roofings and a lot of dishes are grills – African tribal style cooking.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is linked to the rest of the Disney Orlando by buses as its location is rather remote and out of the usual park area.
There are 2 wings at the resort, branching from the rear of the resort are the Kudu Trial and Zebra Trial forming a semi circle the main wildlife savanna. Each wing have 7 five story buildings with visitor rooms for visitor to remain.
The best rooms are on 3rd and fourth floors. This is because these rooms are high enough to overlook the whole savanna but at the exact same time just low enough to appreciate the flora and fauna at virtually ground eye level. The second storey spaces are too low to view the savanna and rooms on the 5th floor are too high up for viewing the friendly animals close up.
There are 2 smaller sized wings called the Ostrich Trail and the Giraffe Trial. However, rooms from these wings do not take pleasure in views as stunning as the ones at the Kudu and Zebra Trail.
By remaining in The Animal Kingdom Resort, you not just have a Disney World Florida vacation, however a touch of the African plains too. Interesting mix, do not you think so? So if you are assuming of taking a Disney vacation, why not think about staying at the Animal Kingdom hotel at Walt Disney World?
